Denver & Colorado Tourism Hall of Fame
Tourism is the second largest industry in Denver,
generating $3.1 billion in annual spending, while supporting 65,000 jobs. Since 1999, the
Denver & Colorado Tourism Hall of Fame has honored a very select group of men and women for the outstanding contributions
they have made to this industry.
New members are inducted at the annual Denver & Colorado Tourism Hall of Fame dinner, a
fundraising event for the VISIT DENVER Foundation, which has distributed hundreds of thousands of
dollars in scholarship funds to Colorado students pursing higher education in the field of travel and tourism. Nominations are submitted by
VISIT DENVER members, with the final selection made by a committee comprised of past
chairs of the VISIT DENVER Board of Directors.
This year's Tourism Hall of Fame inductees are Nick LeMasters (Cherry Creek Shopping Center), Peter Meersman (Colorado Restaurant Association), Charlie Papazian (Great American Beer Festival), and John Denver.
This year's Tourism Star Award recipients are the Clyfford Still Museum, the USA Pro Cycling Challenge and Denver International Airport and Icelandair.
Nominations for the Denver & Colorado Tourism Hall of Fame originate from peers, co-workers and members of the tourism and hospitality industry in the Mile High City.
